The mission of the Analytical and Diagnostics Laboratory (ADL), partially funded with a $21M New York State High Technology Commercialization award to Binghamton University's Small Scale Systems Integration and Packaging Center (S3IP), is to enable interdisciplinary research and development opportunities for faculty, staff and students, while also providing the infrastructure for the commercialization of emerging microelectronic technologies for the New York State. The Labs occupy 8,000 sq. ft on the first floor of the Biotechnologies Building at the Innovative Technologies Complex, and 1000 sq. ft in the Science II building at Binghamton University. The ADL technical staff provides instrument maintenance, user training, ongoing consultative assistance, expert operator services on request, and research collaboration, if desired. ADL is equipped with Facilities Online Management (FOM) system which provides web-based scheduling of lab equipment, verification and authorization of lab users, monitoring of equipment usage, direct network access to some equipment, usage records and billable hours, multi-terabyte central data storage, settable access permissions, network accessible from anywhere, and automatic backup to offline archive.
