Admissions AlumniVolunteer Program

College fair representative
The number one role for our Admissions Alumni Volunteers is attending "College Fairs or Nights," which are great recruiting opportunities that introduce high school students to many different colleges. One or more high schools in an area may sponsor a day or evening program and invite selected colleges to meet with students and their families.
Binghamton University's Undergraduate Admissions Office receives too many invitations to college fairs each year for our staff to attend. As college fair representatives, alumni volunteers meet with students and their families and represent Binghamton by handing out admissions publications, fielding basic questions and sharing your own personal Binghamton experiences.
To volunteer to attend a college fair, complete this online registration form. If the event appears on the calendar, it means help is need. After you sign up, refer to our college fair basics webpage for preparation, guidelines and helpful tips.
Each spring, alumni volunteers reach out to small lists of recently-admitted freshmen and transfer students. While we try to match alumni to students from their region, sometimes we will assign a list of students from our top feeder schools, too. You can use a templated e-mail and then personalize with your Binghamton experiences. No matter where you live or when you graduated, you can help and have fun with this important outreach project.

Often alumni cross paths with students who are interested in receiving more information about Binghamton University. We would love to connect with a student you recommend. Let us know by e-mailing AAV Volunteer Program Coordinator Andy Morris at firstname.lastname@example.org.
