Special notice regarding changes to Alumni Career Network
By Steve Seepersaud
If you are a member of the Alumni Career Network which is part of the B-Connected online alumni community – or you want to start making connections with other alumni – we have an important development to let you know about.
The Binghamton University Alumni Association group on LinkedIn is now the official platform for alumni-to-alumni and student-to-alumni networking. The Alumni Association is here for you to keep you connected to other alumni. Part of being here for you is being where you are. LinkedIn is the world's most popular site for online career networking. More than 7,000 of our graduates have joined Binghamton University alumni groups on LinkedIn; that number far exceeds the number of volunteers on the Alumni Career Network.
"I am positive that our 106,000+ alumni are very active on social media," says Gary Kibel '90, MBA '92, member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and chair of the board's Communications and Social Media Committee. "Therefore, by moving the Alumni Career Network to LinkedIn, we are engaging with alumni on a service that many are already using to further their careers."
As a result, we will close the B-Connected Alumni Career Network on Sept. 30. If you are a member of the Alumni Career Network, we thank you for making yourself available as a resource to alumni and students. Please join our group on LinkedIn if you have not already done so. Please note that after Sept. 30, we will continue to offer the alumni directory and class notes functions within B-Connected.
"Whether you are currently in the market for a new career opportunity or just want to network with fellow Binghamton alumni, LinkedIn, and in particular the Binghamton University Alumni Association group on LinkedIn, is a fantastic resource available to all 106,000+ alumni right now," Kibel says.
If you have any questions about this transition, please contact Steve Seepersaud, alumni communications manager.
