A message to alumni from President Stenger
Dear Binghamton University Alumni,
As we begin the new year, I am settling into my new role as president. I am learning, as all of you are already aware, that Binghamton is a special place, one that is built on a world-class faculty committed to the success of our students and alumni, and engaged in important and meaningful ways with the broader community. I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to lead this great University.
Binghamton's alumni and students have helped the campus earn an international reputation for the strength of our academic programs and growing research initiatives. Each school and college - Harpur College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Community and Public Affairs, the Decker School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Education, the School of Management and the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science - produces extraordinary graduates who are leaders in their respective fields. I know that Binghamton's alumni are loyal and eager to help us succeed, and one of my priorities is to work with you to create a shared vision for the future of your alma mater.
My immediate goals are to advance the University through the development of a strategic plan focused on academic excellence, strengthen our development program in support of the University's key priorities and further engage our local and regional communities in the University's mission. Bold.Brilliant.Binghamton. - The Campaign for Binghamton University will play a critical role in helping us meet these ambitious objectives.
On a personal note, I want to thank the many alumni and friends who have graciously welcomed my wife Cathy and me to the Binghamton community. We are both looking forward to working with you for the betterment of Binghamton University and our surrounding community.
Harvey G. Stenger
