Survey will determine interest in center for family-owned businesses
From staff reports
Binghamton University's Center for Innovative and Continuing Education is conducting a survey to determine interest in a Center for Family-Owned Businesses. Select business owners are being contacted by e-mail and requested to voice their opinion about the need for a center with the sole purpose of serving the needs of family-owned businesses.
Centers of this type help business owners and their family members, managers and advisors deal with unique characteristics of owning and operating a family-owned business. Family councils and governance, creating family shareholder agreements, globalizing the family business and coping with competition from multinationals, family employment policies, and compensation methods are among the issues that family-owned businesses must deal with to be effective and productive. If survey results show a need, a number of services and programs could be established to assist business owners.
If you own a business and would like to voice your opinion, go to http://tinyurl.com/CICE-SP14 and complete the survey before Tuesday, April 15.
