Update from Think Binghamton

By Diane Greiwe

Think BinghamtonBinghamton University's advocacy team recently launched its updated Think Binghamton website. The new site has been redesigned to provide simpler, more user-friendly navigation and improved graphics, focusing on a theme that draws attention to our existing strengths. "Think Green. Think Global. Think Binghamton" will provide an integrated vision for the development of the University over the next several years and is our plan to leverage Binghamton University’s academic excellence, global awareness and green initiatives to further benefit New York state and the region.

The plan calls for increased enrollment of thousands of undergraduate and graduate students, hiring of several hundred additional faculty and staff, construction of new campus buildings, the addition of new partnerships and technology transfer programs between the University and businesses, and increased support for local start-up firms.

We invite you to visit the Think Binghamton site in the coming months to learn more about our plan and to join our advocacy group, the Think Tank -- our network of thousands of University supporters committed to helping Binghamton University advance as an institution. Through simple and effective advocacy efforts, including e-mail campaigns to legislators and decision-makers, Think Tank members make their voices heard.

Your support will be particularly important as we advocate for adequate state support, the launch of a new law school at Binghamton and regulatory reform for SUNY.

In addition to encouraging membership in our advocacy group, we are asking University supporters to share their stories. Your story will help us make the case in Albany that investment in higher education enriches lives across the region, state and nation.

We look forward to working with you this year. With adequate state support and regulatory reform, Binghamton University can be a catalyst for economic growth and sustainable development for the region and New York state. Thank you in advance for your support!
