Binghamton University establishes Varsity Club
From staff reports
Binghamton University has established the Varsity Club and welcomes all former student-athletes to join. The Varsity Club welcomes any of the University's intercollegiate athletes from any era. Going back to 1946, this includes athletes from Triple Cities College, Harpur College, SUNY and Binghamton University.
Members of the Varsity Club enjoy enhanced opportunities to reconnect with alumni of their sport and other teams throughout the years, attend reunions and events, and support today's student-athletes.
"We're excited to honor the participation of all former student-athletes, coaches and managers and to celebrate the rich tradition and history of Binghamton University athletics," Athletic Director Patrick Elliott said.
All student-athlete alumni are eligible. There are currently no membership dues. Please register online to ensure you receive all member communications and benefits. All registered members will receive a Varsity Club window decal and membership card.
The Varsity Club website includes updates, events, links and photo galleries, as well as news to connect with fellow members through Facebook and social media.
The inaugural Varsity Club event will be held during the tailgate party at Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 12. Look for the Varsity Club tent at Tailgate. All student-athlete alumni will be admitted free. Registration of new members will be available, and members are invited for food, drinks, camaraderie and a Varsity Club special gift. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
