Members and Committees


The Binghamton University Asian and Asian American Alumni Council is supported by four working groups:

Program Committee

  • Educational – Develop programs/projects that broaden our understanding and appreciation for Asian and Asian American heritage, traditions, experiences and interests to enhance the academic excellence of Binghamton University.
  • Networking/Social – Engage alumni, students, faculty and staff encourage them to become part of a network to connect with Binghamton University and the larger community.

Communications Committee

  • Develop the messaging and methods of communicating the mission, goals, and programs/projects of the Council through various means including, print and web and social media.

Membership Committee

  • Engage and encourage alumni to participate in programs/projects sponsored by the Council.
  • Identify leadership to assist in planning and executing the programs and project to further the mission of the Council.

Alumni-Student Engagement Committee

  • Provide opportunities for alumni to share their professional experiences and advice with current students through special events, panel and roundtable discussions, and networking receptions both on and off campus. Provide connections and resources to the Community Engagement Program, a course-based program in the Department of Asian and Asian American Studies that requires direct interaction with mentors and groups/organizations/institutions, and includes a project/study to further the understanding of the Asian and Asian American community.
