CHRISTOPHER T. COLEMAN A native of Vestal, NY, Chris Coleman was a track and field sprinter at Binghamton from 1986-89. He received his bachelor's degree in economics and philosophy in 1989 and his MBA from Binghamton in 1993. Binghamton's first male track All-American, Coleman earned five All-America honors in a three-year period. He was a national runner-up in the 55 meter dash at the 1988 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, and also earned outdoor All-America honors that year in the 100 meters. Coleman, who was Binghamton's team MVP all three years, capped his career with two national honors as a senior. He placed third in the nation at the 1989 indoor nationals, and anchored the 4 x 100 relay team to a seventh-place finish at the 1989 NCAA Outdoor Championships. After graduation, Coleman turned his attention to another sport - bobsledding. The sprinter earned a spot as a brakeman for the United States Olympic bobsledding team, and competed in both the 1992 Albertville and 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics. A nine-time SUNYAC Champion, Coleman holds three school records - the indoor 55 meters (6.34), outdoor 100 meters (10.2) and as a member of the 4 x 100 relay (41.98). He was named Binghamton's "Athlete of the Year" in 1988-89 and also received the school's Foundation Award that year. |
