Immediate Release: May 3, 2006 Binghamton scored runs in six of the nine innings and five BU pitchers limited the host Saints to five hits over nine innings as the Bearcats won their third straight game. With the score knotted at 3-3, BU scored once in the fifth, twice in the sixth, once in the seventh and twice more in the eighth inning. Junior

Hitchcock (Laceyville, Pa.) lifted his team-high batting
average to .370 with a 3-for-5 performance. Hitchcock stroked
an RBI single in the two-run sixth inning. Junior right fielder
Jeff
Monaco (Binghamton, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with a triple and
two RBI. Freshman left fielder Ken
Jacobi (Milford, Conn.) went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Binghamton's pitching staff lowered its season earned run average to 4.25. The Bearcats return to conference play with a four-game set at Hartford beginning on Friday. |
