| Golfers in second after first round of BU Invite |

ENDICOTT, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure fired an opening-round 295 to take the early lead at the 11-team Binghamton University Invitational, held Saturday at En-Joie Golf Course. The Bonnies were led by Josh Anderson, who fired a 1-under 71, and Jay Lindell, who shot a 73. St. Bonaventure (295) has a five-stroke lead over Binghamton (300). Colgate (301), Siena (314) and Fordham (319) round out the top five teams. Colgate's Jesse Smith fired a 2-under 70 to lead all individuals. The host Bearcats were led by senior captain Adam Fuchs (Plainview, N.Y./JFK-Plainview), who carded an even-par 72. Fuchs, who finished among the top-10 in 17 consecutive tournaments, picked up three birdies in his round, and is tied for third place in the field of 60. Junior teammate Keith Hendrickson (Syosset, N.Y.) shot a 74 - thanks to two birdies and a 1-under back nine. Binghamton freshman Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.), playing as an individual, rolled in four birdies en route to an even-par 72. Sunday's final 18 holes will begin at 8:45 a.m.
