Head Coach
Nick Lasky
Entering his ninth year with the BU golf program, Nick Lasky
has positioned the Bearcats as a perrenial NCAA tournament team.
After serving as an assistant coach for seven years, Lasky took
over the full reigns in 2003-04 and promptly guided Binghamton
to its second consecutive national tournament berth. Along the
way, the Bearcats won five invitationals, including the programs
second straight ECAC crown.
Without the aid of an automatic conference championship bid to
the NCAA tournament, Lasky has crafted a schedule that puts the
Bearcats up against both the top teams in the region and a mix
of high-caliber out-of-region events. His 2003-04 squad finished
the spring season as the No. 2 team in the Northeast, and received
an at-large berth to the NCAAs the programs 10th
national bid in the last 13 years (Divisions I, II and III).
Prior to 2003, Lasky played an integral role in the programs
rise in both stature and divisional status, serving as assistant
for acclaimed longtime coach John Affleck. During that time,
BU advanced to NCAA tournament play six times, and crowned three
All-Americans and 21 all-region players.
A BU graduate himself, Lasky offers invaluable knowledge and
perspective to the current student-athletes, while fostering
a family-like environment for his players and alumni.
A dedicated instructor, Lasky also has taught golf and bowling
classes at Binghamton. He received a bachelors degree in
accounting from the University in 1979.
