Immediate Release: April 1, 2006 CRISFIELD, Md. - Binghamton golf got off to a sizzling start at the Drew Upton Memorial Towson Classic Saturday at the Great Hope Golf Course. The Bearcats shot a 3-under 285 to stand in second place out of 23 teams halfway through the tournament. Richmond shot 283 to lead the pack. Behind BU in the top five was James Madison (289) and four teams tied at 290. Senior Kevin Crawford (Lockport, N.Y.) produced five birdies en route to a two-under 70. Junior Aaron Ungvarsky (Wilmington, Mass.) carded a 1-under 71 and junior Matt Mattingly (Manlius, N.Y.) and sophomore Zach Vinal (Syracuse, N.Y.) each recorded an even-par 72. Playing as an individual, sophomore Ryan Gabel (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) shot a 75. The Bearcats begin their tee times Sunday at 9:40 a.m. |
