The setback snaps the Bearcats' four-game win streak. Things started off well for Binghamton as junior attack Rob Willams (Fulton, N.Y.) scored just 3:36 into the contest. The assist was credited to freshman attack Chris Mulheron (Canandaigua, N.Y.). From there, however Bellarmine took control of the game, going up 2-1 at the end of the first quarter and 5-1 at the half. Garett Kikot tallied thee of his game-high four assists during the run. For most of the third quarter the two teams traded goals, as the Knights held a 7-3 advantage in the final minute of play. Anderson, however, scored a critical goal with three seconds remaining, bumping the lead to 8-3. Having rallied in the fourth quarter for wins in two of its previous three games, Binghamton outshot Bellermine 9-2 over the final 15 minutes. The Bearcats, however, could only manage a single goal by junior attack Matt McNamara (Oswego, N.Y.) halfway through the quarter, which would be matched shortly thereafter. The Bearcats outshot the Knights 25-23, but goalie J.C. Hutchins made a game-high eight saves in the winning effort. Binghamton stays in Princeton for a game against the host Tigers on Sunday at 2 p.m. |
