Burns
named assistant men's lacrosse coach
VESTAL,
N.Y.--Kevin Burns has been named the assistant coach of
the Binghamton men's lacrosse team. He arrives from Wagner, where
he was the assistant coach during the 2004 season.
A 2003 graduate of Loyola (Md.), Burns was a defenseman for a
squad that was ranked No. 1 in the nation during the 2000 season.
Prior to arriving at Loyola, he played for West Genesee High
School (located in the Syracuse area), a squad that won the state
championship his junior season and was also ranked No. 1 in the
nation.
"We are excited to have Kevin here," head coach Ed
Stephenson said. "He has played for great coaches (Dave
Cottle at Loyola and Mike Messere at West Genesee) and he knows
what it is like to be part of an elite team."
"I'm looking forward to coaching at Binghamton," Burns
said. "I am eager to learn from Ed and its great to be coming
back home to New York."
