For Immediate Release: April 18, 2005 Contact: Thomas Moore II (sports@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-2956 Smith named America East Conference Men's Lacrosse Co-Rookie of the Week America East Conference Release VESTAL, N.Y.--Freshman midfielder Stephen Smith (Canandaigua, N.Y.) has been named the America East Conference Men's Lacrosse Co-Rookie of the Week for Apr. 12-Apr. 17. This marks the first time that a men's lacrosse player earned Rookie of the Week honor. Smith set a school record with six assists in Binghamton's 13-7 victory over Hartford on Saturday. He also netted a goal against the Hawks, giving him seven points in one game, also a school record. Binghamton (2-8, 2-2 AE) heads to Quinnipiac (2-9, 1-3 AE) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, if the Bearcats win they secure a place in the four-team America East Tournament.
