He is the first Binghamton player to receive this award since the program moved up to the NCAA Division I level and will now advance to the All-America ballot, which will be voted on during the next week. Munro has been instrumental in Binghamton's historic season, in which the team won the America East Conference title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He was voted first-team all-conference and was also the America East Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Led by Munro, the Binghamton backline led the team to a school-record 16 shutouts as well as a NCAA-best 0.37 goals against average. "This is a great honor for Graham and for our program," head coach Paul Marco said. "He is in elite company and has done a lot for our team this year." |
