Immediate Release: October 1, 2005 "I was very pleased with the result this afternoon," head coach Paul Marco said. "Collectively as a team, I thought we played very formidably against a tough, well-coached Maine squad." After nearly 60 minutes of scoreless action, the Bearcats were awarded a penalty kick when junior forward Joey Neilson (Boothwyn, P.A.) was taken down inside the box by a Maine defender. The foul set the stage for Munro, who would deliver his fourth goals of the season, firing the ball into the right corner of the net. Despite recording only one tally, the Bearcats attack kept the pressure on the Maine end all afternoon, outshooting the Black Bears by a 16-0 margin. The Bearcats will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon, in their second of three consecutive home contests, when they take on UMBC in conference play at 3 p.m on the West Gym Field. |
