No. 19 Binghamton men's soccer topples Philadelphia 3-1
Bearcats extend unbeaten streak to five, improve to 3-0-2

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.--Binghamton (3-0-2) scored a pair of second-half goals 10 minutes apart to knock off host Philadelphia University (1-3-0) 3-1 in the first game of the Soccer Classic Saturday afternoon. Sophomore forward Joey Neilson (Boothwyn, Pa./Strath Haven) delivered a goal and an assist and classmate Bryan Arnault (Clay, N.Y./Cicero North Syracuse) added his fourth goal of the season as the Bearcats stretched their unbeaten string to five games this season. Binghamton hasn't lost a regular-season game since a 2-1 loss to Marist on September 19, 2003 ((16 games).

The host Rams jumped out in front just 3:42 into the contest before Neilson evened the score off a feed from junior midfielder Danilo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) in the 21st minute. In the second half, junior defender Graham Munro (Inverness, Scotland) scored the deciding goal on a penalty kick. Arnault tacked on an insurance goal in the 59th minute with Neilson earning the assist.

Binghamton outshot Philadelphia 17-8, including an 8-2 margin in the decisive second half.

Junior goalkeeper Stefan Gonet (Refrewshire, Scotland/Trinity) made three saves in net.

Binghamton will face St. Joseph's Sunday at 11 a.m. in its final game of the tournament.
