Andersons first goal came when he headed in a corner kick by junior midfielder Ethan Hutchins at 66:21 to tie the game at 1-1. At 75:01, Hutchins again found Anderson, this time for the game winner. He passed the ball to Anderson who from 30 yards out to the right, blasted the ball into the net. Overall, Vermont outshot Binghamton 8-3 in the decisive second half and 13-10 for the game. Binghamton came out strong in the first half, outshooting the Catamounts 7-5 and taking a 1-0 lead into the break. Freshman Danilo (Sao Paulo, Brazil/ The Interlagos School) headed in a corner kick by junior midfielder Michael Austin (Oneonta, N.Y.) at 32:10. The Bearcats had a couple of other scoring chances later in the first half but were unable to stretch the lead. We are very frustrated to lose a game like this that we could have taken care of in the first half, head coach Paul Marco said. We were winning practically every ball in the first half and had our chances. We didnt compete as well in the second half. Binghamton continues its four-game home stand against Hartford on Wednesday at 3 p.m. |
