Bearcats defeat Siena 7-0 in home opener

Binghamton won all six singles matches and captured the doubles point with a sweep of all three doubles matches en route to a 7-0 victory over Siena College Tuesday on the West Gym Courts.

Senior captain Dmitriy Litvak posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles, and teamed with junior Brad Davidoff for an 8-2 victory at first doubles. Davidoff scored a 6-2, 7-5 triumph at second singles. Sophomore Steve Spencer was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at the third spot, and senior Randall Shu was impressive in a 6-0, 6-1 victory at fourth singles. Spencer and Shu teamed for an 8-6 win at second singles.

“Randall is finding his game again,” head coach Michael Starke said. “He really looked sharp.”

The Bearcats (2-0) close out the abbreviated fall season with an invitational at Williams College (Sept. 22) and then the ITA East Regional (Oct. 26-28), where BU’s top players will compete against the best Division I talent in the region.
