Immediate Release: May 6, 2006 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Stitt, Goldberg and Hennessy win individual events in Day One of America East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Men's Results Women's Results DURHAM, N.H. -- Seniors Paddy Hennessy (Selkirk, N.Y.), Adam Goldberg (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and senior Jamie Stitt (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) and all recorded first-place finishes in the opening day of the America East Track & Field Championships at New Hampshire. The men are in third place out of nine teams with one day remaining while the women are in fifth place. Hennessy broke his own school record in the hammer with a distance of 188-11. That improves his qualifying distances for the NCAA Regional Championship and IC4A Championship. Goldberg won the high jump for the second year in a row (6-8) while Stitt won her first outdoor pole vault title (11-9 3/4). Elsewhere on the men's side, junior Rory Quiller (West Point, N.Y.) was second in the pole vault (15-9) and senior Luke Shafer (Penfield, N.Y.) finished second to Golberg in the high jump (6-6). Sophomore Katie Wilmer (North Syracuse, N.Y.) was third in the women's pole vault and freshman Katie Radzik (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) was third in the 10,000 (37:20.00). The America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships conclude on Sunday.
