Immediate Release: August 11, 2006 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Natilee Dawkins named Binghamton assistant track & field coach VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton University track & field program has announced the hiring of Natilee Dawkins as it new full-time assistant coach. She will be responsible for working with the sprinters and hurdlers on both the men' and women's squads. Dawkins arrives from Gardner-Webb University, where she was the graduate assistant coach the past two years and also worked with the sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers. She was also a volunteer assistant coach at Middle College High School in New York City during that time. A 2003 graduate of Gardner-Webb, Dawkins earned her bachelor's degree in business administration. On the track, she was a three-time NCAA Division II All-American during the 2000 indoor and outdoor season. Originally from Jamacia, she also represented her country at the 1998 Junior Pan Am Games in Cuba. I am really excited to have Natilee on board," head coach Mike Thompson said. "She has been successful as an athlete and coach, and will be a great role model for the track and field student-athletes. She has a positive outlook on life and athletics, and her expertise in the sprints and hurdles will help immensely.
