For
Immediate Release: April 28, 2004 Offensively, sophomore shortstop Rose Barre (Watertown, N.Y.) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the third inning. Senior designated player Christine Sweeney (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with three runs scored. In
the second game, BU led 2-0 before the Retrievers tied it with
two runs in the bottom of the third inning. Then in their last
at-bat, the hosts won the game with a two-out, two-strike RBI
double. Binghamton was outhit 10-5 for the game and went down
in order in two of the last three innings. Sophomore second baseman
Nicole Vitello (Olean, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with a solo
home run in the first inning and an RBI single in the third.
Freshman first baseman Christina Quijano (Syracuse, N.Y.)
was 2-for-3. |
