Bearcats
gain second straight split against Vermont In
the first game, Binghamton came out swinging as freshman shortstop
Rose Barre (Watertown, N.Y./ General Brown) doubled to
lead off the game and then scored on a single by sophomore outfielder
Marisa DeStasio (Bethlehem, Pa./ Freedom). For the doubleheader,
DeStasio went 3-for-6 with two runs and a RBI. The Bearcats,
however, would not score again and the Catamounts scored twice
in the fourth inning off of sophomore starting pitcher Michelle
Weeks (Bunnell, Fla./ Flager Palm Coast) to lock up the win.
Weeks (5-2), who struck out a school-record 17 batters the previous
day, went six innings, allowing just two hits and striking out
five batters but was tagged for the loss. |
