Score Binghamton won the first two games but Marist held a 29-27 advantage in the third game. The Bearcats, however, saved two game points to knot the score at 29-29. After holding off a third game point, Binghamton reeled off three consecutive points to close out the match. We played pretty consistent today, said head coach Glenn Kiriyama. We were able to come through when things got pretty tight in that third game. Sophomore outside hitter Michele Heck (Chicago, Ill./ Resurrection) and sophomore setter Glorimar Ortega (Narajito, Puerto Rico/ Bayamon Academy) each had a team-high 13 kills. Ortega also added 23 assists. Binghamtons next match is on Oct. 8, when Albany visits for a 7 p.m. contest. It will mark the Bearcats first-ever America East Conference match. |
