Binghamton
sweeps Hartford in three games

N.Y.--Junior middle hitter Anne Crocus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom)
had a match-high 15 kills and eight total blocks, leading Binghamton
(11-7, 2-1 AE) to a 30-26, 30-17, 30-16 victory over Hartford
(8-11, 0-3 AE) in an America East Conference volleyball match
on Saturday afternoon at West Gym. With the win, the Bearcats
conclude Homecoming weekend having swept both of their matches.
Binghamton defeated Stony Brook in four games on Friday night.
"Getting two conference wins was big for us," head
coach Glenn Kiriyama said. "We have some tough matches coming
up this weekend so we need to keep improving but we are happy
to have done well this weekend.
Junior outside hitters Michele Heck (Chicago, Ill./ Resurrection)
and Morgan Jimerson (Grandview, N.Y./ Nyack) each posted
10 kills. Heck also added 11 kills, marking the seventh consecutive
match in which she has posted a double-double. Freshman setter
Ashley Meffert (Louisville, Ky./Fern Creek) tallied 42
assists and five total blocks while senior outside hitter Nicole
Savin (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./ Comsewogue) had a team-high
12 digs.
Binghamton
travels to Northeastern for a 7 p.m. match on Friday. |
