Score CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (7-6) extended a four-point halftime lead by holding visiting Binghamton to just seven second-half field goals in a 66-49 victory Sunday afternoon. The Bearcats (3-6), who trailed 31-27 at the break, hit just 7-of-26 from the floor (27%) over the final 20 minutes, and shot just 36% for the game. "We fought hard, but it's difficult when you don't shoot well or make free throws," associate head coach Rich Conover said. "We were prepared defensively, but they wore us down at the end. Give them credit. They are a good defensive team." No BU player reached double figures. Junior center Nicole Dypolt (Calgary, Alberta) scored nine points and pulled down eight rebounds, and freshman guard Rachel Laws (Wyncote, Pa.) added eight points and six rebounds. Corpus Christi was led by 6-foot-2 center Kristin Rogers, who produced a game-high 18 points. The Bearcats play their America East Conference opener on Saturday, January 11, hosting Stony Brook at 5 p.m. |
