On
tonights game:
Too
many turnovers. The key to the game was us turning the ball over
and missing free throws. It was unfortunate. We did a great job
defensively. I continue to be proud of the way we can hold a
team to 58 points a game, but our offense wasn't where it needed
to be tonight."
On the offense:
"We just need some people to step up and be able to hit
some shots. We have some people taking 10-15 shots a game and
we need some more shots to drop. I think we're taking good shots.
Getting good shots is something we're doing better than in the
past, but we're just not finishing. It's been our problem all
year and we need to continue improving."
On
playing without injured Nicole Dypolt:
"We are obviously missing Nicole in the lineup. We have
a lot of people with injuries and we're limited off the bench,
so a lot of people are being asked to play more minutes than
in the past."
On Binghamton's use of the full-court press:
"We used the press a little bit in the second half tonight
and I thought we did a great job with it. We're a team that can
only use the press for 4-5 minutes at a time, however. We're
kind of all or nothing with the press. We can't play a lot of
intense minutes and still be effective. By the time we went to
the press tonight, Hartford had a cushion and they weren't necessarily
looking to score in transition. I liked the way we defended and
pressed in the backcourt."
On Binghamton's 3-4 record at home:
"We're under .500 [3-4] at home now, and we just need to
get the job done and win our home games. I read that we were
47-4 at home before this season. We need to start playing better
at home."
On the upcoming game against Boston University:
"Boston is a great team. They were picked to finish second
and they are second right now. They can be hot and cold sometimes,
but Katie Terhune is one of the best players in the conference.
We've given up a lot of career-highs this year and that's something
we didn't do in the past. We need to stop Terhune early and not
let her get going. Boston has some strong post players and they
score a lot on the inside. That's going to be a battle for us.
We will need to play very well to win."
On the outlook for the second half of the conference schedule:
"The teams in our league are very bunched up. Right now
it's all about making it to Hartford for the conference tournament.
Nobody wants to finish ninth and everyone is kind of hoping that
another team will hold someone else to only 2-3 wins. The bottom
line is we just need to start playing better and do what we can
to make sure we are in Hartford. |
