Binghamton women's basketball defeats Le Moyne 74-51 in exhibition game

Box Score

VESTAL, N.Y.--Binghamton women's basketball eased into its season with a 74-51 exhibition victory over visiting Le Moyne Tuesday night from the Events Center. The Bearcats put 10 players in the scoring column and limited the Dolphins to 16 field goals in 40 minutes of action.

Sophomore guard Rebecka Lindgren (Oskarshamn, Sweden) led all scorers with 18 points - 10 coming in the second half. Junior forward Jen Haubrich (Bow, N.H.) scored 11 of her 13 points in the second half when BU stretched a 12-point halftime margin. Junior guard Rachel Laws (Wyncote, Pa.) collected nine points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes of action.

Le Moyne was led by freshman guard Kim Wagoner (Cicero, N.Y.), who scored 17 points.

The Bearcats broke away from an 18-18 tie midway through the first half, outscoring Le Moyne 18-6 to end the period. Lindgren scored eight of those points, steering Binghamton to a 36-24 bulge. A 17-6 run to open the second half increased the cushion to 25 points before BU settled on the final 23-point margin.

Binghamton enjoyed a commanding 46-25 advantage on the glass, where its size and depth wore down the Dolphins, who only dressed nine players.

The Bearcats play their second and final exhibition game Friday at home against Division II St. Rose.
