Binghamton falls to Syracuse 72-51

SYRACUSE, N.Y.--Shannon Perry had a game-high 23 points, leading Syracuse (4-5) to a 72-51 win over Binghamton in a non-conference women's basketball matchup at Manley Field House. The game was televised to the Syracuse area by Time Warner Cable on a delayed basis.

The Bearcats hung tough, trailing by 45-31 at the break and then cutting the deficit to 50-40 with 14:53 left to play. Over the remainder of the game, however, Syracuse went on a 22-11 run to seal the win.

Binghamton was led in scoring by junior center Nicole Dypolt and junior forward Leala Wegwerth, each of whom finished with 11 points. Sophomore guard Laura Scordino had nine points.

The Bearcats were without starting point guard Kate Townley, who missed the game due to a stress fracture.
