Immediate Release: November 12, 2004 Junior guard Jen Blues (Overland Park, Kan.) nailed 5-of-7 from three-point range en route to a game-high 17 points, and Binghamton put the defensive clamps on the Golden Knights in the second half, limiting them to six field goals over the final 20 minutes. "I thought on the defensive end we did very well, but we need to solve some things in the post," head coach Rich Conover said. "We had very good looks but didn't finish. But we had an 18-point win and didnt' play our best, so we'll have to take it. We need to focus on improving our free throw shooting and rebounding. There were some bright spots, but we need to be more focussed and play our game. We'd like to play more of an up-tempo, transition-style offense, but their zone threw it off tonight." St. Rose was led by sophomore guard Mary Lewis, who scored 10 points. The Bearcats now prepare for their season-opening game on November 19 at North Texas. "We have three solid days of practice to look forward to before we head out," Conover said. "There certainly are areas of our game we need to improve - it's just a matter of focus." |
