Bearcats
blanked by Boston University 4-0; will need help to gain tournament
bid The
host Terriers, who outshot Binghamton 14-3, broke a scoreless
tie in the 70th minute. Boston then added a second goal less
than two minutes later, and tacked on two late goals in a 2:19
span. Binghamton needs a loss by UMBC and a loss or tie by Stony Brook to gain the sixth and final berth to the America East Championship, which begins on Tuesday. UMBC hosts Northeastern and Stony Brook visits New Hampshire on Sunday. If the Bearcats don't advance to the conference tournament, they should receive strong consideration for a berth to the ECAC Championship. Binghamton's winning season is the program's 17th consecutive. |
