Former
swimmer Alison Auerbach passes away Former Binghamton University student-athlete Alison Auerbach-Barr (Schenectady, N.Y./Niskayuna High School) passed away on September 21, 2003 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Auerbach-Barr, 28, competed for the women's swimming and diving team from 1992-96. She was a breaststroke specialist who helped lead the swim team to a combined 24-8 dual meet record during her four-year collegiate career. She placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke at the 1994 SUNYAC Championship, and was an ECAC Merit Medal recipient in 1996. Auerbach-Barr earned her bachelor's degree in psychobiology in 1996, and went on to earn a master's degree in education from Union College. She taught biology at Mohonasen High School. Auerbach-Barr is survived by her husband, Adam Barr, and her daughter, Rebecca Mayim, who was born September 5, 2003. |
