The Bearcats advance to the finals for the second year in a row and third time in the past four years, where they will meet 11-time defending champion Boston on Sunday at 9 a.m. "We had some great comebacks today and are looking forward to (the finals) tommorow," head coach Mike Stevens said. "UMBC was a tough team to play." Kushnirovich and Scarangella fought off two match points at No. 3 doubles to defeat Pascaline Cette and Debra Defosna to win 9-7. With UMBC's win at first doubles and Altinay and freshman Juliana Umeki (Mogi des Cruises, Brazil) defeating Joy Adewumi and Elizabeth Anderson 8-4 at second doubles, the rally at third doubles nailed down the doubles point for the Bearcats.
