For
Immediate Release: April 26, 2005 Dobrin, Binghamtons No. 3 singles player, rolled a straight-set win over his opponent from Bucknell for his 11th consecutive singles victory and 16th win in his last 17 matches. He enters the America East Championship with a team-best 20-3 dual match record. Also playing No. 2 doubles, Dobrin scored a win over Bucknell, lifting his doubles mark to 18-7 overall. Binghamton, 19-5 overall, has set a school wins mark and tied a program record with 10 consecutive matches heading the America East Championship, where they will be looking for the programs third consecutive conference crown. Altinay
has now earned the weekly honors three times this season. She
helped won both her doubles and singles match as Binghamton pulled
out a 4-3 win over a 15-5 Bucknell squad this past Tuesday. Altinay
and freshman Alyssa Freeman clinched the doubles point for Binghamton
with their 8-6 come-form-behind win over Chelsea Mills and Tayna
Sichko at No. 2. She then scored a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles
over Nicole Curcic. In the Bearcats' regular-season finale against
Albany last Wednesday, Altinay defeated Courtney Michels 6-1,
6-0 at No. 1 singles to improve her record to 28-4 for the season.
It was also her 14th consecutive victory. |
