Women's
tennis team sweeps James Madison and Cleveland State Against the Dukes, the Bearcats lost the doubles point but took four out of six singles flights to win the match. Freshman Justina Hakimi (Manhasset, N.Y./ Herricks), won at first singles 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and junior Janine Sadaka (Great Neck, N.Y./ Great Neck) won at second singles 7-6 (7-4), 6-1. Also winning against James Madison were sophomore Alexis Brill (Syosset, N.Y. Syosset) at fourth singles, 6-1, 6-5, as well as senior Kristin Jobe (Baytown, Texas/ Texas City) at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-0. Against the Vikings, the Bearcats swept all six singles matches as well as all three doubles matches. Hakimi won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Sadaka won 6-1, 6-2 at second singles, Brill took fourth singles 6-0, 6-1 and Jobe won at fifth singles 6-1, 6-0. Also winning for Binghamton were senior Amy Weissberg (Syosset, N.Y./ Syosset) at third singles, 6-0, 6-0, and sophomore Amy Linda (Bronx, N.Y./ LaGuardia) at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-0. Binghamton is now 5-7 on the season. |
