Binghamton Men's Cross Country inks Craig Coon to National Letter of Intent

VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton University Cross Country team has announced the signing of Craig Coon (Penfield, N.Y.), a senior at Penfield High School. He will compete for the Bearcats in both cross country and track starting next fall.

Penfield finished 30th this past season at the New York Federation Meet, which includes all Class levels in the state. In track, his personal best time in the 3,200 is 9:38.

"Craig is a perfect fit for our men's cross country program," head coach Annette Acuff said. " He's a strong runner and should excel at the longer distances in college."

Coon is the second cross country runner to sign with Binghamton this year. Last fall, local standout Chris Gaube (Vestal, N.Y.) was inked during the early signing period.
