The BME program accepts students at both the bachelor's and master's levels. The main criteria for admission are a degree in engineering or equivalent, excellence of the academic records, the appropriate knowledge base to permit enrollment in the core courses, and an interest in contributing to the healthcare field. All admitted students should complete the core coursework, although students entering the program with a master's degree may substitute equivalent courses if appropriately justified; permission will be granted by the program director on a case-by-case basis. Prospective students should visit the Graduate School website to apply online or print an application.
The application package includes transcripts, test scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), at least two letters of recommendation, and a one-page statement indicating why the applicant wishes to pursue a graduate degree in biomedical engineering at Binghamton University. International students should provide an official TOEFL score.
