PhD Candidate and Graduate Research Assistant

Research interests: chronic health and disorders, integrative physiology, market planning for medical technologies and public health leadership

Research Focus

My central investigative focus is targeted toward applying systems bioengineering and instrumentation approaches in the area of integrative physiology and preventative biomedicine, more specifically towards an understanding of how the interactions between physiological systems (specifically, cardiovascular, neuromuscular, and somatosensory systems) cause regulation and how these interactions influence both health and disease. In particular, efforts are being invested to investigate the effects of non-invasive biophysical intervention (mechanical and electrical stimuli) in the overall mediation of the cardiovascular regulation through the activation of calf muscle pump and reflex-based mechanosensory mechanisms.
