About Campus Pre-school

The Campus Pre-School & Early Childhood Center, located on the Binghamton University campus, is a private not-for-profit corporation that provides educational experiences and developmentally appropriate, affordable, high quality care for young children in a safe, nurturing and enriching environment while contributing to the well-being of individuals and families associated with Binghamton University and the surrounding community.

The Campus Pre-School was established in 1971 in the basement of Chaplain Hall on the University campus to provide nursery school experience for children of Binghamton University students while their parents pursued academic programs. Originally founded by students and funded by student organizations, the Pre-School offers enrollment priority to children of students and members of the university community with subsidized tuition rates for students, and faculty and staff. The school also provides volunteer and internship opportunities for students.

On October 31, 1974, the Campus Pre-School became a corporation and also established a Board of Directors. During 1990, the Campus Pre-School relocated to their present facility behind the East Gym on the University Campus. At this remote area of campus they enjoy the quiet beauty of the large wooded area surrounding the school with each classroom having access to the outdoor playgrounds. After 44 years the primary purpose of the school remains the same, to serve children of Binghamton University students, faculty and staff, and a small percentage of slots made available for the community at large.
