FIELD HOCKEY - COMPETITIVE
The Field Hockey Club is a competitive team open to all students. The team is generally comprised of approximately 25-30 players, but is always looking for new members to join. The club is led by current students who are voted in at the beginning of each spring semester into executive board positions (co-presidents, captains, treasurer, secretary, and public relations). During the fall season, games are played against other clubs from colleges/universities. From 2006 to 2009 we participated in the New York State Field Hockey League, playing club teams exclusively in NY. In the fall of 2008, the club also gained membership in the National Field Hockey League (http://nationalfieldhockeyleague.com/), granting the club the opportunity to travel to games and tournaments beyond NY. In total, 10-12 games are played during the fall season, excluding playoffs. In the spring, the team will schedule indoor turf tournaments, this includes Binghamton's own "Bearcat Bowl". There are both indoor and outdoor practices, experienced and inexperienced players are encouraged to join. The club is excited and looking forward to a new year and the opportunity to play field hockey.
