This project helps low-moderate income people, improves the environment, creates jobs and imparts new skills to residents and job seekers by introducing them to a groundbreaking program that helps homeowners, landlords, non-profits and small businesses reduce their energy consumption. This program is ongoing and will last at least two years.
Volunteers will participate in Community outreach development to recruit homeowners to participate in the free or low cost complete home energy assessments and to upgrade their homes through the Green Jobs Green NY (GJGNY) program. This will involve educating home owners, community leaders, business owners, and the general public on the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable resources. Volunteers will also promote consumer awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and educating consumers on the multiple benefits of energy efficiency and building practices that support these principles through flyers, phone banking, data entry, press releases, and more
