The Office of Continuing Education and Outreach on the BU campus is responsible for summer and winter sessions, advising non-matriculated students and developing and offering non-credit programs. This volunter position is with our non-credit programs which offers a variety of service delivery methods, from conference planning to online courses for professionals and the community, to summer youth programs, and professional trainings designed specifically for corporate customers.
Volunteers will assist the Director of Continuing Education and Outreach and the Non-Credit Program staff in program development, marketing and outreach for new and existing programs, conferences, etc. Responsibilities can be drawn from several options including conducting needs analysis and qualitative and quantitative research and focus groups for identifying and developing new training programs. Students may target specific populations such as medical personnel, educators, police, youths, or artists. Vounteers are encouraged to pursue alternative delivery methods and outreach such as social networks, and online technology. Voluteers can also enhance and maintain mailing lists, social networking sites, and website. Some responsibilities may vary depending on the current needs of the office and student needs and interests.
