The Broome County area and its residents (including many BU students, staff, and faculty) were devastated by a flood of historic proportions September 7-9, 2011. Over 20,000 people were evacuated and many more were impacted by the flood waters. As the community comes together to try to recover from this crisis, many are stepping forward to help. This website contains information to guide those interested in volunteering or donating to help others who were impacted.

If you want to help residents clean out homes that have been flooded, wear protective clothing. Pick up protective masks and gloves in the CCE office (UU 145). Please see the disaster mud-out clean up guide on the Binghamton Neighborhood Project's website before cleaning up any flood related areas.
