How to Apply to the Johnson City Mentor Program

 

First Time Mentor

  1. Log in to eRecruiting
  2. If it is your first time logging in, complete your profile and proceed to the "Home" screen.
  3. Look for the "One Click Searches" Box and in that box click on the link to JC Mentor Program.
  4. Then click on "Jobs"
  5. Click on "First-time Mentor" position.
  6. Read the instructions and apply by clicking "submit" then select the resume you want shared with the JC School Staff. If there is no submit button, read why not and fix your profile or upload a resume if needed.
  7. Email your reference the pdf recommendation form to complete and then they can email it completed to jcmentor@binghamton.edu.
  8. Complete the application form linked within eRecruiting to provide a few more details to the JC School staff. All materials for Fall 2014 mentor applications are due by September 11th 2014 at 1PM. Interviews will be held for those selected on 9/17/14. Mentoring and seminars begin the week of 9/22/14.

 

Returning Mentor

  1. Log in to eRecruiting.
  2. If it is your first time logging in, complete your profile and proceed to the "Home" screen.
  3. Look for the "One Click Searches" Box and in that box click on the link to JC Mentor Program.
  4. Then click on "Jobs"
  5. Click on the "Returning Mentor" position.
  6. Read the instructions and apply by clicking "submit" then select the resume you want shared with the JC School Staff. If there is no submit button, read why not and fix your profile or upload a resume if needed.
  7. Now select the cover letter you've written for consideration of the JC School Staff and submit in eRecruiting as well. Your cover letter should answer the following questions in full:
    • Why do you wish to re-enroll for this mentor internship?
    • What are some new goals that you are setting for yourself as a returning mentor?
    • Do you want to be placed with the same mentee? Why or why not?
    • What advice would you give to a first time JC mentor from Binghamton University?
    • Please provide the name of your mentee AND semester of your past participation in the program.
    • Cover letters can be addressed to Mr. Wilson,Dean of Students.
  8. No reference is required nor application form for returning mentors.
