CDC Services and Resources
As a Binghamton graduate, there are a number of resources and programs available through the Career Development Center to utilize in your job search.

Alumni Career Network
Through "B-Connected", Binghamton University Alumni Association's Online Community, you can tap an expansive group of fellow alumni for networking. The Alumni Career Network is a searchable database of Binghamton alumni who have volunteered to be contacted by alumni and/or students regarding their career. Network volunteers can provide information and assistance whether you are conducting a job search, considering graduate school or contemplating a career change. Although the Network is not an employment or placement program, it is designed to help you connect with alumni and tap their talents and insight.

eRecruiting
CDC provides a web-based system to use as part of a job search. Many employers contact CDC for assistance in identifying candidates (entry level and experienced) for openings. To register, print the Alumni Registration Form, complete and return it with the non-refundable fee to the Career Development Center . Effective April 18, 2005 the Alumni registration fee for eRecruiting is $10 per year. Once CDC receives your registration materials, your account will be activated and you will be sent an email message with instructions on how to login. Your registration will be active for one year from the date of registration. Additional eRecruiting instructions are available from the Basics of eRecruiting for Alumni Quick Reference Guide.

Credentials File
As a student you may have opened a credentials file in CDC to keep reference letters and other specific documents to support application for full-time employment and/or graduate/professional school. If you didn't open a file as a student you are welcome to do so now. To open a file please read "Introduction and Policies" then complete and mail in the "How to Register" form. This service is available to you for 10 years from the last date of use.

OptimalResume and OptimalInterview
If you need assistance in creating and formatting a resume or if you are seeking interviewing advice, OptimalResume and OptimalInterview may be of interest! Alumni may subscribe to these services for a $29.00 yearly fee (payable through the Optimal website). OptimalResume is an easy-to-use and fully-customizable resume formatting tool complete with examples. OptimalInterview allows you to practice your interviewing skills and even hear advice from recruiting professionals. To create your account, visit the Binghamton OptimalResume website.

Career Resource Area (CRA)
No matter where you are in your job search process, you will have to do some sort of research. Whether you are researching careers trying to narrow down exactly what you want to do, or trying to find addresses of organizations to send your resume to, the CDC can help. Our Career Resource Area (CRA), a reference collection for researching careers, contains information on different career paths, graduate schools, internships, or employers. An on-line catalog of these materials is available to identify specific items.

Programs and Events
Many of CDC's programs and events are open to alumni. Check CDC's website for a schedule.
