Students will work with a faculty mentor on a topic related to that faculty member’s research. Research will typically involve experimental work using the extensive facilities at Binghamton University. Students will receive additional education training in safety, research ethics, and renewable energy and storage. Group meetings and social activities will be held each week.
Binghamton’s summers are almost ideal for outdoor activities. The university is very near the Finger Lakes region and within four hours of New York City and Philadelphia. Other organized students groups will be active in the summer at Binghamton, and the REU program will coordinate its student activities with them to offer additional opportunities for all students.
In 2015, we will be exploring an international option for the REU which would include German Science students participating in Binghamton and a 1 week trip to present your work in Germany.
