"Sounds of China" Chinese Language and Beijing Opera Summer Camp Performance

This summer, Binghamton University is holding the "Sounds of China: STARTALK Learn Chinese Through Beijing Opera Performance" summer camp. The camp is offered to students entering grades 6-12 and teaches Chinese language through a focus on learning Beijing opera.

On August 15, from 2:00 – 3:30 pm, the students will present some of their Chinese language and Beijing opera skills to show what they have learned during the three weeks of "Sounds of China"! This event is FREE and will take place at the Anderson Center Chamber Hall at Binghamton University, so stop by if you're interested in Chinese language, culture, or performing arts!

What is "Sounds of China"?

"Sounds of China" is a unique summer camp offered by Binghamton University for students entering grades 6-12 that teaches Chinese language through a focus on learning Beijing opera (Peking opera). Campers learn Chinese and engage in Chinese culture-themed arts and crafts in the mornings, and learn Beijing opera in the afternoons while using their recently acquired language skills. No other summer camp in the U.S. offers this unique and exciting opportunity!
