20:1 Sexual Assault Peer Education Internship

The seminar functions as a forum for students to learn about sexual assault, prevention, victim empathy, sexual consent, bystander behavior, peer education, and oral presentation skills. During the seminar, students will be expected to engage in class discussion, orally present learned material, and design creative approaches to presenting the material at officially planned peer education sessions.

These is a year long internship of 2 credits per semester, 5 hours per week requirement. Students will participate in a seminar to becomeeducated in sexual assault prevention, which includes victim empathy, sexual consent, bystander behavior, peer education and oral presentation skills. Each intern will be required to do outreach in the BU community, primarily presenting to fraternities, athletes andother men on campus with other outreach opportunities as directed by professional staff.

20:1 Bystander Program for Students

(Sister Program to 20:1 Sexual Assault Prevention Program)

The seminar functions as a forum for students to learn about Bystander Intervention, sexual assault prevention, domestic violence, hate crimes/bullying, hazing and other incidents of potential situations of interpersonal violence where there might be opportunity for Bystander Intervention During the seminar, students will be expected to engage in class discussion, orally present learned material, and design creative approaches to presenting the material at officially planned peer education sessions.

The 20:1 Bystander Program for Students is a brand new internship for undergraduate students.

Fall 2013/Spring 2014

Year-long internship of 2 credits per semester, 5 hours per week requirement.  Male and female interns needed! Students will participate in
a seminar that meets every Monday from 1:10 to 2:40 to become educated in Bystander Intervention, which will include sexual assault situations, interpersonal violence situations, bullying situations and others.

Each intern will be required to do outreach in the BU community; interns will be presenting to a variety of student groups.
